Who has health issue's here?
I have lupus, fibermyalisa, thyroid and the list keeps going. The weight I have is horrible, I like to say I use to have a hard body now I have a wide body. I am 5'8 and weigh 217 lbs. I feel like I'll never see a size 12 again? Any idea's on what to do now? I started exercising again yesterday, whew 20 minutes killed me. That's really sad.

I know what you mean...
Hey,

My name's Marcie, and trust me when I tell you I can relate. I have severe asthma (not as bad as what you have though) but even though I'm never tired, my lungs are too sore to breathe when I try and work out. 20 for me is killer, so I can feel your pain when you ask if you'll ever see a size 12 again (although I've always been bigger than the average girl).

I don't really have any tricks or suggestions, I think only a doctor can really suggest anything when it comes to health issues, but I'm here when it comes to moral support. I'm new to this community, and I've never replied to a post before, but your story hits home.

Marcie

I just found out about my health problem
I am in the same boat. Just got diagnosed with Cushings Disease and my doctor has told me that I have to loose the weight or my issues will get worse. Easy enough but I do have major back problems and I know strengthening it will help and so will losing weight. I am coming here to motivation and doing the Biggest Loser on Wii. Today is my first day.....hope I continue.

I am new here...just started this site about 30 minutes ago.

best of luck to all~

I have diabetes
I am trying to ajust my dietary needs to the meal planning on here.
This site is fabulous! I joined a few days ago.
I take no medication for diabetes yet... trying to keep sugar levels down with 'diet' and 'exercise' ... ohh don't I dislike that word!
I would like to hear/add as a friend anyone who is dealing with the same problem.

I am on the same page
Hi. I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia as well. My lupus SLE, and gives me lots of problems. I havw gained lots of weight since the treatment for SLE, but I am much shorter than you a 5'4", and I weigh in at 183.5 after a week on fitclick. I stopped taking prednisone, and would like to stop the hydroxychloroquine too, but I figure one at a time. The side effects are worse than the SLE itself. Also, like Lynn, I am dealing with blood suger issues as well. I was hoping that it was on the high side from the prednisone, and that this weight loss willlower it once again. I am sure you know that you will feel better with your lupus and fibromyalgia with weight loss, as there will not be as much stress on your body. Keep at it. You CAN get down to a 12 again. I was in a 4 when i was diagnosed with lupus, and now a 14 is snug (remember, I am only 5'4"). I am just wanting to feel better. Less joint pain etc. Best of luck to you!

Feelin you
I also have Fibromyalgia. I don't know much about Lupus, but I do know it's not a good thing. With my Fibro, oddly enough light exercise helps. Instead of trying to do intense cardio or 20 minutes at a time, try walking for 5 minutes 4 times a day. Your exersize doesn't have to be consecutive as long as you get it in!
Also good, are yoga and pilates. I actually feel pilates should be a bad word! But it does help strengthen your core, which then helps everything else, and yoga isn't all about stretching, getting into awkward positions and ohming everything ... it's very relaxing, and may actually (with the help of proper diet and exersize) help you go from having a wide body back to your hard body.
Best of luck!

horseback riding & lupus
hi i have a therapeutic riding center, and have a lady who suffers with lupus, that wants to come and ride with me. i want to help her, but also want to be careful not to hurt5 her. i cant find any information on percoutions or contraindcations reguarding riding some one with this disability. i am concerened about hurting her, and understanding her limatations. i would be greatful for any input someone might have on this subject, or even what to be careful for when exersizing.
do you know a web site that might help?
thank you
kim
