Why are avocados so good for you?
I look at the amount of calories an avocado has in it and wonder why do nutritionist say they are so good for you...I don't know. Do you?

Avocados
They are high in the good fat that lowers cholestrol. It's the monounsaturated fat. I use a slice of it on my salad or on a sandwhich in place of mayo. It's one of those foods that you don't pig out on; but has good health benefits. I love to take one and cut it into cubes with a red onion, garlic, and chopped tomatoes, hot pepper, and add a touch of a fresh lime, and cilanto. Great with baked chips.

Good fat and filling too.
Avocados are considered a power food and I love them.

They may be high in calories but not "Empty" calories. The fat in avocados is what our bodies need. I like to experiment with them as a base to a salad dressing. Makes a creamy dressing without the saturated fat we find in dairy based creamy dressings.
