Wine and Dining Ideas for Reducing Calories
Do you like to go out to restaurants as much as I do? I love it and my finances show that.... I would love to hear of ANY calorie-reducing ideas to implement when dining out. P.S. I also like my adult beverage (wine usually) with my meal. Thanks for posting anything on this because I feel as though you ideas will be VERY beneficial to me. Bon Appetite!

These are two strategies that I use...

1. If possible find nutrition info for the restaurant online before you go. Check calories, sodium, etc and try to pre-determine what you will be ordering.

2. Ask the server to bring to-go box when the food is served and immediately package half (or more) of your plate to take home for meals tomorrow. (I sent my take home portion from yesterday's outing in my daughters school lunch today).

Today's the test.....
Having lunch with a sister in from out of state----I plan to order a salad, plus no adult beverage since it's lunchtime, and now for a decision on salad dressings??????

Salad dressing at restaurants can be a nightmare! I have actually been known to bring my own homemade dressings in a container in my purse ;)

A thought bubble
Sorry if this was already suggested, but it takes so long for the site to show all replies, why not enjoy your meal whole, nothing missing, just exercise before and after the meal to undue the potential damage? This way you can gauge what you have to do to maintain damage control. We work so hard in healthy thoughts and deeds most days, have a great meal for me Donnasim! Just do the "good deed" before and afterwards!

House dressing?
You can always ask for oil and vinegar and mix on your salad at the table. Have a good time!

Me too!
I bring my own bun when I eat a burger or fish sandwich.
