exercise after hysterectomy
I was diagnosed with cancer early 2009 and had total abdominal hysterectomy in March 2009. Still going thru Radiation treatments but am mad as can be at myself for gaining 30 pounds since the diagnosis. l have yo-yo dieted my whole life. After diagnosis of cancer decided if I was going to die, I was going to eat all of the foods I had been depriving myself of my whole life. Fortunately, my prognosis is excellent. So, now I want to shed this 30 pound coat. I have been walking and using a stationary bike but would like faster results. Any suggestions? Need encouragement as well. Thanks!!!

Similar story
I also gained 30 pounds after diagnosed with breast cancer. I, too, as currently doing fine except for the pounds. I am enjoying curves and walking. Have just started using this programs foodtracker. I like to be accountable. Have lost 3 pounds since Friday. Good Luck. You have beaten cancer which you couldn't control, now we can beat this because we can control what we eat!!

Thanks for the encouragement!
Just got back from a treatment. Second one. Worse than first. Long ordeal! Next one in 2 weeks. I am going to try to walk on the treadmill for the next few days. Hopefully after that I can go back to alternating with the stationary bike. I'll be glad when I can get back into kickboxing. That is my all time favorite exercise and something I can stick with. I only weigh myself once a week, so, will weight Monday. Am anxious to see how I'm doing. I've stuck to my diet so far and done atleast some excercise daily.

Keep up the effort
I missunderstood the first read. I missed that you're still undergoing treatiment. How much longer do you have? I had Chemo not radiation. Well, wishing you the very best!

Radiation
Two more treatments. They are spaced 2 weeks apart because they really do wreck havoc on the body. The first time it took a week for me to feel somewhat normal again. So, during that week, I was really limited in what I was able to do. But, I just gave extra effort the few days I felt better before the second treatment. I'm determined!!

Unsettled
Had a 'routine' mammogram today. They took pictures, had me wait, took another one, wait..wait..wait, did an ultrasound, wait, doctor returns and does the ultrasound herself and tells me there is a node to watch in my breast, but not to worry, come back in six months. Tough not to worry! Of course, what did Iwant to do? Eat! Met my husband for lunch, had a grilled chicken sandwich and ate some fries. I never eat fries! I'll be fine. Just need a few hours to settle down.

Keep your chin up!
It is understandably disheartening to get news like that considering your medical history. However, I think that if the doctors were overly concerned, they would be more aggressive. Embrace the power of positive thinking!!! It's OK about the french fries. Put it behind you. Just try to keep on track the rest of the day. When you are feeling stressed, walk; even if it's just in place. : )

on track
Took a nap for two hours. I'm a teacher, so summer is a fun time to do that kind of thing. Then went to Curves and after dinner - grilled chicken and asparagus with very small baked potato - walked about two miles with my hubby. Feeling the day wasn't a total wash out in spite of the fries!

How was your day?

Nice rebound!
That's the way to do it! Great job!!! I stuck to my diet but didn't do too much in the way of exercise. Twenty minutes on the recumbent stationary bike was about all I could handle. Hopefully I will be able to gradually increase my activity each day. Keep up the good work!!!

exercize
I've notice your workout page. How do you log walking and in my case circuit training at Curves. When I look at the exercise info. it seems to so detailed like 20 crunches or 10 of something else. I just want to log my walking distance and my workout. Any suggestions?
