hurt knee
I've done something to my knee. One Dr says sciatic nerve, another says I've pulled something. My usual routine is hiking, walking everyday 5 miles. Now What? I just know Im going to gain 10 pounds fast! I can hardly walk without pain so what can I do?

Don't stop completely
Pain is a sign that something is wrong, don't ignore, give yourself a little break and don't "self-medicate" with food if you can avoid it. I have sciatica too, and it can cause problems if you try to force exercise.

Exercise is a good therapy for knee pain (the right kind)
Knee pain doesn't have to stop you, from getting enough exercise. You can still be healthy and have a active lifestyle. Do not do any high impact exercises or overdoing it during a workout. That can cause more knee pain. Try exercising in water if possible. You can continue to walk. Just go slower. Don't exercise on hard surfaces. Walk on grass or dirt. If that's not right for you try, walk indoors on a treadmill. They have pretty good shock absorption. You can use a stationary bike. That would give you a good aerobic workout without stressing your knee joints. Many kinds of exercises are easy on the joints and will make your knee feel better, not worse. Try wearing a knee brace and don't overdo it! You may need to see a physical therapist.
