long week
its been a long week and I have done very well. I have not slipped and eaten any candy or sweets. I have gone over my target calories on 2 days, (100-200) and have not exercised at all. I have been working a lot of hours due to the storm and have been dead tired upon getting home. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get a better idea of how many calories are in the foods I am eating from the local take out we use. I can weigh each item I eat and have a record of it or is there a simpler way. Thanks for any and all reply's.

Some users aren't very helpful are they/?
The best wayy to get an idea of take out is to use a user food similar to the one you are tracking. Otherwise I would say guesstimate on the ingredients, and plug them into a recipe maker. That should about do it.
Hang in there.

Weighing the items is something I have done! :) It isn't so bad because once you do it the first time and record it you don't have to do it again and you know exactly next time :)

Nutrition Menu
Takeout foods are usually a killer when it comes to calories depending on what you are having. What I have been doing before ordering any takeout is to see if they have nutritional guidelines on the food item(s) you are purchasing. Many restaurants and take out establishments do this now even McDonald's is doing it. Exception that I have noticed though is Chinese Foods.
