my clothes are fitting tighter :S
I have been working out for about 2 months now,
on average i get to the gym abouyt 4 times a week
but I always try for 5!
I have been watching what i eat, though sometimes i feel it is important to treat myself !
Lately I have been adding weight training into my workout routines
and I have noticed that my clothes are fitting tighter !!
I havent lost a pound, and if i do i gain it right back !
this is very fustrating !! and really starts my day off terribly : (
especially when i feel like im working so hard and achieving nothing
I understand that this is muscle mass
but will my size ever go down ?
I am sick of my love handles, flabby stomach and celulite legs
and summer is approaching fast !
ANY TIPS ??????
PLEASE HELP !

same boat
I am the same way. I have been working out for awhile now. I walk at least a mile a day and added weights and an ab machine workout too. People at the gym tell me its because Im gaining muscle and losing fat and it weighs the same. Im always asking well when do I acaualy lose any weight. Do you keep gaining muscle weight? I get very confused :)

Same here too...
I completely understand your frustration!! The same thing seems to be happening to me! The only thing I can do is just stick with it... I don't want to give up but it's hard to stay motivated when the scale doesn't budge. :(
Today is day 23 for me and I'm down a total of only 4 pounds! By week 2 I had lost a total of 6 pounds but then gained back 2 pounds last week. I have a hard time believing that I put on 2 pounds of muscle in a week though! I'm keeping track of my diet through this website and I'm doing good keeping my calories, fat, carbs and protein in check with the site's recommendations.
I workout 6 days a week for minimum of 1 hour. I do 30-40 minutes on the treadmill (walking at 3.5 mph for 15 minutes for warm-up, then jogging at 4.0 mph for 15-20 minutes and then walking again at 3.5 mph for 5 minutes for cool-down. Then I do strength training with weights, lunges/squats and ab workout for 30 minutes. Tuesday's and Thursday's after my workout I do yoga for 35 minutes AND I take a Zumba dance class every Wednesday... and Zumba is in addition to my regular workout for that day too!! You would think I'd have lost more than 4 pounds by now!! So frustrating!!
If anyone can explain how I'm not losing pounds I'd love to know!

Sometimes working out too much can hurt
My cousin used to work out every single day, and didn't loos weight either. She stopped going as often, down from 7 to 5, and lost weight like crazy. The lesson here is that your body needs rest days to grow. Make sure to take it easy every two days or so. I dont work out everyday, but I always overestimate calories eaten, and I have been loosing 2-3 pounds a week.

How much is too much?
I am working out with a group of people who want to start working out twice a day. Is this too much to work the same muscles twice a day?

Reply to 'How much is too much'
I've been told and read that you shouldn't workout any longer than 45 minutes a day, because after that you start losing muscle. People that workout 3 hours a day are taking a step forward and two steps back.
