new here, any advises?
Hello, I am Carolina, 28 Yo Portuguese Girl that needs to loose a few pounds (71 to be more precise). I am very motivated with my dieting for a week now but I can't seem to make myself exercise. Any advises on how to motivate myself? Any workouts that one can do while watching TV???

Thanks :)

Way to go!
Hi Carolina! I'm new, too - Marie. (34yo, F, 28lbs to go) I saw you tracked a cardio workout. BRAVO! I know the first step is the most difficult!

I've been thinking about getting a treadmill - great workout that totally can be done while watching TV...but expensive. I'm keeping an eye on Craigslist. My theory is that if I can just always workout with a particular show (for me it's just the news) it will go easier.

I'm not good at getting online throughout the day, though, so not sure I'm going to be very good at tracking. But I've GOT to get some accountability/motivation somehow!

Have fun!
One thing I noticed is that I will only exercise if it's something I love to do. I love to dance, but I don't like dancing in clubs or anywhere around other people because I'm self-conscious about my weight. So I made some dance mix CDs with my Rhapsody account and cleared some space in my apartment. After work, I come home, cue up the music, and dance for a minimum of 30 minutes (usually more if the mix is good.) I just started on this site and can't wait to start logging in my dance workouts.

Right there with you!
My total weight loss goal is 71 pounds. I am really 85 pounds overweight, but at 41, I don't have to be a skinny minnie, I just want to be lean. I am 14 pounds down with 57 more to go. It is really hard to get motivated to excersise when you are carrying so much extra weight. I haven't started a REAL excersise routine yet, but I am trying to start everyday by stretching. It is helping to limber up these old stiff bones and give me some added energy to walk a bit further, or take an extra trip up the stairs. I'm hoping more weight loss will equaL more energy. So far it is working for me. If you tire easily, start small. Take a 10 minute walk everyday. The more you do the faster you'll lose, but if you over do it, and don't see immediate results you may just cave and go back to your old ways. Good luck!
