prices are crazy
Anyone notice how expensive it is to eat healthy? Its so much cheaper to buy a $1.00 box of brownies than a bag of oranges. Not that I would rather have the brownies but I sure wish frsh fruit and veggies were a lil cheaper. Seems like anything that is nutritious and good for you is so expensive. Just griping and venting :)

Yea you're right!
That's why I always try to go to produce stands and not grocery stores for fruits and veggie purchases

It Sad
We wonder why so many people are overweight. Look are the food prices. I have always gotten healthy foods for my family but the prices have risen so much. I used to be able to feed a family of 5 on $100 to $150 and now I am spending $200 to $250 a week.
Farmer markets are great for getting produce at a reasonable price.

Growing some at home-
My opinion is too depressing to discuss, regarding the "conspiracy" against mankind, but I digress. One thing everyone can do is container gardening. I do several raised beds. You don't need a green thumb, just some common sense. Grow herbs, tomatoes, and arugala-Arugala is SOOOO easy to grow, throw the seeds in some soil, and it sprouts in a few days, clip it often, and reseed, so you will always have an abundance. I agree though-the price of food is ridiculous-but think about the reasons, and it's clear they won't be getting lower anytime soon.

Getting tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce now. Corn isnt ready yet. Does help a lot with cost. Also have wild strawberries oh so good.
