1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F / 205 degrees C.
2
Prepare a 4 oz ramekin by liberally spreading room temperature butter inside.
3
Melt together chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan until melted and smooth, stirring constantly. Do not let it get away from you, it melts really fast. This should only take about 2 mins.
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolk, egg, vanilla, sugar, and salt. Whisk in melted chocolate mixture. Sprinkle sifted flour over the mixture and fold in with a big spoon. Pour batter into ramekin.
5
In a small pot, heat frozen berries on low heat until they are soft, warm, and runny. Set aside.
(It is a good idea to put the cake in the oven just as you begin your meal so that it will be the perfect temperature when you are ready for your romantic dessert)
6
Lower oven temperature to 345 degrees F / 190 degrees C. Bake cake for 15 minutes. The cake batter should rise above the sides of the dishes and the top edges should be dark brown in color. Remove from the oven while the center is still soft and gooey. There should be a little sunken pool of chocolate in the middle.
7
Using a knife, run around the sides of the dish to loosen the cake. Allow cake to cool at room temperature for 5 minutes.
8
Place a small plate over the cake dish. Using oven mitts or a dish towel, hold the plate and the dish together and turn over. Shake the dish a little so that the cake falls out onto the plate.
9
Spoon the warm berries on top of the cake. Marvel at your beautiful creation. Enjoy this cake with someone you love, because I am pretty sure warm dark chocolate is an aphrodisiac hee hee...
