Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter baking dish.
Combine butter, sugar, flour, oats, and cinnamon in a bowl. Work mix together and toss in walnuts.
Toss apples with lemon juice;spoon into baking dish. Sprinkle topping over apples. Bake for 1 hour. Server warm (with vanilla ice cream).
