Heat olive oil in a large ovenproof sauté pan with a lid. Add shallots and allow to brown.
Add chicken and sear on each side, about 2 minutes per side. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until you can smell the aroma.
Add 1/4 cup chicken stock and vinegar and boil until reduced by about half, 2 or 3 minutes. Add remaining chicken stock, rosemary, thyme, basil, marjoram, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.
Cover and bake 20 to 30 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
Remove from oven. Spoon a bit of the sauce on top, and serve the rest of the sauce on the side

Hopefully the creator of the recipe will notice that there is the missing ingredient before we try to make it tonight. I will check back before making it. Since it does sound good, with or without the vinegar. Blessings.

You are right....there is no vinegar in the ingredients list. Hummm....I would not think it was 1/2 (or did you mean 1/4) cup vinegar as kind of indicated in the second paragraph? That would be pretty strong either way...for me that is. Since this is on my plan for dinner tonight, I will try a couple tablespoons at a time until I like the aroma.

Directions say add vinegar, but it doesn't show in the list of ingredients? Does anybody know, is it also a 1/2 cup of vinegar?
