Directions:  
Stir together flour, pkg pwd, sugar, cr. of tartar, and salt
Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
make a well in center and add milk, stir until moist (dough should be wet)
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. knead 10 -12 strokes until nearly smooth. Pat or roll dough to 1/2 in. thickness and cut with floured biscuit cutter.
Place bicuits 1 in. apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 450 for 10-12 min. or until golden.
