Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.

In a separate bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture while stirring.

Do not over mix.

Stir in oats and nuts until combined. (Batter will be thick and stiff).

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 11 to 12 minutes or until set; cookies will be slightly moist in the center.

Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
