Directions:  
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spray a tube pan or bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray.
Combine the buttermilk and baking soda.
Combine all dry ingredients except sugar in a bowl, set aside.
In a large mixer combine the oil and sugar, add the eggs one at a time.
Next alternately add in the dry ingredients and buttermilk, until mixed.
Finally stir in the fig jam.
Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees, until golden and toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in pan on wire rack for 30 minutes before removing to a cake plate.
