Directions:  
Mince garlic. In a large stockpot on medium heat, heat olive oil and saute garlic and onion for 5 minutes, until the vegetables are translucent. Add the celery and saute for 5 more minutes.

Add the water, tomato paste, lentils and thyme. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes, until the lentils are cooked through. Season with salt and pepper. Right before serving, add the red wine and serve hot.
