1.) Preheat oven to 325.
2.) Beat egg white until thick
3.) Add granulated sugar to egg white and continue beating until the mixture forms soft peaks.
4.) Add brown sugar, corn syrup, shortening and the egg substitute.
5.) In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
6.) Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients and mix well. Add chocolate chips.
7.) Divide dough in quarters and roll each section into a log about the size of a nickel. Wrap each log in wax paper and put in freezer until firm.
8.) Cup each log into 18 pieces. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies turn light brown.
