Directions:  
Heat butter in suitable pot over medium heat until hot.
Add onion and saute until nearly translucent
Mix together, the water, the coffee creamer, the chicken base and the corn starch and stir into the hot onion. Continue stirring as needed to prevent sticking while the mixture thickens slightly. Steam the broccoli, drain, and chop it coarsely and add to the soup base while it thickens.
Add salt, pepper and any desired spices (your choice)
If soup is thicker than you like, thin with a bit more water. Too thin? Mix a bit of corn starch in a 1/4 c of water and stir it in.

If your diet allows, serve it over a 1/4 cup shredded cheese, or over some croutons.

NOTE: I cook all creamed dishes with a heat shield between my electric stove element and the pot.
