Ground pecans. Combine pecans with panko in a shallow dish.
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season fish with salt and pepper. Dredge tops of the fish in breadcrumb mixture. Place fish, breading side down, in pan. Cook for 4 minutes. Turn fish; cook 4 minutes.
