In a large bowl, sprinkle the yeast over warm water and allow to soften for 5 to 10 minutes. Add the salt and oil and 3 cups of the flour; mix well. Add more flour,1/2 cup at a time, beating with a wooden spoon, until you have a soft dough that is no longer sticky,
Turn the dough into a bowl sprayed with vegetable oil cooking spray; spray the top lightly. Cover with a kitchen towel damp with warm water and allow to rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled in bulk.
Punch the dough down, divide in half, and allow to rest for 15 minutes. Roll out on a floured surface as thick or thin as desired.
To prebake, place the rolled-out dough on a cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden.
