Dice onion and mince garlic, set aside.

Cube pork steaks, removing bones and trimming off fat.

Heat a large pot/dutch oven to medium high heat.

Add 2 tbsp. vegetable oil.

Add pork, onions and garlic.

Cook stirring frequently until the outside of pork pieces are no longer pink.

Add the diced tomatoes and mushrooms with liquid.

Add 1 cup water.

Reduce heat to medium, and let simmer covered for 1 hour or until pork has reached your desired tenderness.

Salt and pepper as needed.

If mixture is too watery, increase heat and cook with lid off to thicken.
