Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line 12 muffin cups with paper liners.

In a bowl, combine wheat bran, yogurt, agave, canola oil and eggs and let sit for 10 minutes.

In another bowl, combine the flour, wheat germ, flaxseed, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.

Combine the two mixtures until incorporated. Add chocolate chips, if desired.

Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups and baking for 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
