Core cabbage and boil down leaves, seperating from head as cooked and drain in colander as cooked.

Cook rice

Chop up 1 to 2 large onions

In large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, eggs, salt pepper, garlic,
onions, and cooked rice. This is the filling for the cabbage.

Place some of the outer cabbage leaves onto bottom of deep roasting pan to line.

Place cabbage leaf in palm of hand and scoop filling into center. Fold top down to cover filling. Fold sides over to center, then roll from bottom up.

Place rolled up cabbage into lined roasting pan.

pour stewed tomatoes over rolled cabbage

pour tomato sauce over rolled cabbage.

Place roasting pan in pre-heated oven at 350 for about 1 hour, then reduce temp to 250 and let simmer in oven for another 2 hours.
Note. If you want, you can also stuff some green peppers. Just carefully cut top off peppers and save. Clean out insides of peppers and rinse. Stuff with same filling , place in lined roaster and replace top of pepper. Cover with sauce.
