So-So Week

I had a So So Week (hence the title). Didn't get to work out like I meant to, but also ran out of snacks early on in the week, so I snacked less. Of course I grocery shopped today. I did get some snacks, bad me. I will just have to up the activity to make up for it. I haven't stepped on the scale in awhile, but last time was positive. Next week the kids have a few days off school. Yipee. hopefully they're not also sick, and we can go out. The weather was nicer, got to walk outside. My knees a...

V-Day

I fell during my walk on Friday and still feeling stiff in certain places. But I'm glad that housework is considered an activity!! I cleaned my basement today. Grocery shopped yesterday and it's KILLING me that I didn't get many snacks. Good for the diet, but I keep finding myself wandering into the kitchen and looking in the cupboards, like something will suddenly materialize! Lets just say my laundry got all folded, just to keep my hands busy. Right now is hard because I normally sit in front ...

Tried a new tactic to get myself active today. Instead of using the kid as an excuse NOT to exercise, I incorporated her into it. Normally this would involve going to the park, but its damn cold, so I popped in a Denise Austin kids DVD and she had a BALL spinning around and getting in my way. I might not have done all the moves perfectly, but we laughed and moved together. I have to remember how fun that was, and how fast the time went. I still like the elliptical for how high it gets my heart r...

What a depressing, unproductive, WEIGHTY week. Sick kids, sick me, lost motivation, just all adding up to a shitty weigh in and feeling low. Might have to force myself back onto the wagon. It's supposed to be nice out this weekend, and i REALLY want to get out and walk outside.

Again ate something I reacted badly with. I THINK i know what it is, and if it's that food item, then there's ingredients hidden, which is NOT good for a food company that calls itself "Gluten Free". So I've gotten off the exercise track this week big time with my body going nuts over a food intolerance. I did great grocery shopping, I didn't buy my regular snackies, and it's driving me CRAZY when I'm in the mood to snack. I don't NEED to snack, I know that, but when I want to, and I can't......

February begins

The first couple days of February have been....meh. I ate something the other day that I reacted to, and it's lasted a few days. Gotta love food intolerances. Today I got out and shoveled a bunch of snow, that hard packed stuff that the street scrapers shoved up onto the sidewalk. My back and arms ache, but a good ache. Tomorrow is Grocery Day...I can tell because I'm wandering the house moaning about how I really want a snack! There's NOTHING in the house to snack on. I could drag out some ba...

End of Janaury. While I haven't noticed a change in myself, bodywise, I have noticed a few other changes. My knees are feeling alot better, and I have more energy. I'm also thirstier. I need to stay mindful of choosing water over pop. Looking at my calendar of happy faces, one happy face per workout...I'm pleased. There's room for improvement, I guess there will always be, activity wise, but I'm pleased. I got off my butt at least three times each week. It is a challenge to stay motivated w...

Such a nice change from the "Parts of you will freeze and fall off" cold of the past three weeks, it was hovering around 0C today. Went out with kid and shovelled. Was fun, alot more fun than the elliptical! My back was aching at the time, but I'm ok right now. Sore throat and feeling run down tonight before bed, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. It was soooo nice to get a motivating comment on a blog post yesterday. It's funny what the words of a stranger will do when you need the...

Kay, so counting days for titles won't work if i don't post every day. Fine. I"m feeling very discouraged, even though I've been doing really ok on my workouts. I don't THINK I'm eating anymore than usual, but my scale isn't budging, and today I feel soooo fat and bloated. Not much of a motivation to continue working out. But. I have to remember that my KNEES DON"T HURT right now. Sure I'm stiff from shoveling snow this morning, but it's a good stiff. My knees don't click when I go up and d...

Day 8

Took two days off of activity. Felt horrible yesterday, and my knees were back to groaning. I was also dehydrated. Today I took charge and did my workout and hydrated. I feel like I accomplished something, and one more happy face for my calendar. Today was the best work out to date. I got to 20 minutes, by doing intervals, on the elliptical. It helped the boredom, counting the minutes. I'd do one minute fast, one minute recovery. I like the 20 minute mark, and I might stay there until I'm doin...
