Overwhelmed

You have made a wonderful first step. Recognizing that you need a change in your life. It can be hard for most people to admit. Eating healthy should be your next step. You'll lose a lot of weight by just cutting out certain things like soda and fast food. Don't say good bye to them forever. You can still have them, just as a once in a while treat. Next, exercise. Working out will help you to burn calories and tone your muscles (so they look great when the fat is gone). You probably know all of this. But I figured it couldn't hurt to say them anyway. I wish you the best of luck! You'll be able to lose the weight if you stick to it. The only advice I can give you is to tell you what's working for me. Tracking my calories, and being honest about it too, is really helping. I never knew how I was eating way too many calories before. Now that I do I'm making a lot healthier choices. Overwhelmed, I agree with Spindles...you are on the right track. I too, have let myself go. My baby girl was born ten years ago too, and except for the fact that I only have two children, you could have been writing about me. Tiis site has been a blessing in letting me actuallysee what has been going on! There is support here, and I know you are going to love it! I will turn 40 on the 23rd and I do not quite know if it is a mid-life crisis or what, but I had an epiphany and decided it was time to take care of myself! Best of luck to yOU!

But look at the positives - you have acknowledged that you are going down a path you don't want to be on and have joined this website. The first step is the hardest and you have already done that. Next step is to work out what your goal is and how you are going to get there. It may feel like a mountain at the moment but break it into small chunks and treat each one like a goal. Look at what has worked for you in the past and what has not and use that as a guide. As you can see by the number of people on this website - you are not alone. You are off to a good start - keep it going!
