Hmmmm I don't know where the rest of my comment went so I'll continue here..... Her eating habits reflect what the rest of the family is eating. For her to make life time changes, get her involved in the weight loss process teaching her how to make good healthy choices. Let her be the one to use this site (supervised of course) to do all her own journaling for her food and exercise. Even let her blog her progress and struggles and let us help to support her. Nadine..... when my child went in for her 6th grade check-up the nurse gave me advise that I will never forget..... Her words were: instead of having her LOSE the weight, have her MAINTAIN her weight and she will grow into it. My daughter was not considered obese at the time but she was chunky and on the high end of the scale for her age and height. When I was 10 I was sent to weight watchers. It obviously didn't work and I grew up not only obese but morbidly obese. Had I just maintained my weight (120 pounds in the 6th grade) I would not have been an obese all my life. Of considering any health issues with your daughter, my advise would be to consult with her pediatrician on their recommendations. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... don't put the pressure on her to lose her weight by summer!!! You will be doing more harm than good.
