Doing pretty good. Was bad this holiday, but not as bad as years past. Actually had to check myself a couple times. I realized I can be good most of the time, but not to deprave myself of the things I want. As long as I don't go overboard. I just had about 1/4 cup of all the good stuff at the holidays, or just 1 piece of chocolate. That way I was semi-good, and still got the taste of what I wanted. Plus, My hubby got me my gym membership for Xmas. Yay Me! How was your holidays?

  • OK, so I don't come here much and don't post, and a lot has happened since I joined this site 2 years ago, including a bad motorcycle accident less than a year ofter breaking my spine in a horseback riding accident.  BUT! I'm still focused on health and losing weight.  This Jan ended up 10 lbs higher than when I joined FitClick.  Now, as of today, I've lost 30 lbs from that high of 240 and my original weight here of 230.  Maybe it's only .2 lbs/week, but it's a wonderful feeling to know I'm down for this long and staying strong. A couple of tips if anyone cares: 1) I have a treadmill desk that I use when my job permits me to work at home (2-3 x/wk).  On those days, I work from that desk an ave of 4 hours/day.  It's awesome.  Did it not for fitness but because I'm very uncomfortable sitting for long periods due to breaking my back. And, I'm a total fidgiter!  I think it's a part of why i'm losing tho...even though you go really slow (about 1mph). 2) Biggest reason for weight loss? In Jan I discovered Medifast.  THE PERFECT diet.  I don't do the super hard way that results in rapid weight loss. To jump start, I started on their 5+1 plan, where you lose pretty fast.  After a month or two, I switched to a modified plan, where I often eat more protein/meals than they allow, and I eat whatever I want at least one weekend day per week. I do NOT eat bread or simple carbs, or sweets, hardly ever though. The medifast foods are super tiny and yet I have to say, they must be really nutritionally sound because I am not as hungry as I used to be. No other diet based on packaged food has come close to working for me, yet here I am, 7 months after starting and losing and surviving.  Check it out, all I can say.   3) Simple exercise...Not making a big deal of this, but doing things I like, like ri...
