    just so you're aware, if a can or bottle of soda is diet and says 0 calories then it DOES NOT have any sugar or high fructose corn syrup. those are the things that add calories. so diet sodas (and i'm not talking about diet juices or gatorades) only use substitutions; splenda, nutrasweet, etc.

    i've heard different things about weight loss with sodas including diet sodas. personally, i lost 18 lbs in 3 months a few years ago and i didn't stop drinking soda entirely. i just made sure it was always diet. concerning your health - there is nothing nutritional that you are going to gain from drinking diet soda and water is ideally always the best choice.
