    Have you talked to your doctor about a fitness routine? Even if they don't personally have answers they may be able to give you a referral to a licensed professional who could help you with a program.

    That said, while doing both is healthy and they are complementary - most weight loss, IMO, comes from reducing your calorie intake over a sustained period of time...
