Well, clearly my holiday eating and happy hours added water bloat because I lost 6.5 lb in the first week.  I did stick to my  4 meals approach, never had any portionless salty snacks, and eliminated all alcohol calories except for two white wine spritzers on Sunday. Two people, two spritzers each over a couple hours of Christmas decorating and there was still a half bottle of wine left. I believe I need to readjust my thinking about how many wine calories I typically consume....

I am 52 years old, more than 52 pounds over my ideal weight and 5 foot 2 inches tall. My goal is to lose 52 pounds over the next 52 weeks. I know how to do this: burn more calories than I consume. I also know where my calorie pitfalls are: salty snacks and happy hours - and social events with wine or other adult beverages before, during and after dinner. My normal weekly schedule includes way too many snack and alcohol calories.
