Do the Math

 Unrated

It's all about the math.  An article in the paper today reminded me that the key to losing weight is to burn more than you take in.  That's it.  It really is that simple.  I have attained healthy.  I did that by exercising and eating more fruits and vegetables and less processed food.  My blood work is vastly improved as far as triglycerides, cholesterol and sugar.  For that I can be proud.  It's time for me to start being honest about my intake so I can r...

They say....surround yourself with positive people.  I think part of my problem lately is that most of my co-workers are toxic.  Very negative, they bring problems on themselves with their attitude and then that attitude ooozes from their pores and infects me and everyone else around them.  It is a vicious circle.  Heading off to work today feeling tired but hopeful that by recognizing this, I can make concious choices to seek out positivity today, but first......I ...

Takin' a Day Off

I burned myself out....physically and mentally.  Done.  I didn't work out today or count calories.  About this time of the week.....every week, I reach a point where I am overwhelmed with work and family obligations and exhaustion from lack of sleep and I slack off.  I am not apologizing.  Nobody is perfect and everyone deserves a day off.  I will survive this and I will be successful.  I need to get a handle on emotional eating because...

Scaling New Heights

Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 8:47 PM filed under General postings
I am scaling new heights....note:  that is not a good thing.  The scale is definately moving the wrong direction, largely in part to my lack of self control.  My Bosses 40th Birthday is today.  Or whole office has been celebrating with her for an entire week.  Today ended with cake after eating out for lunch.  Tomorrow is a new day!  The Birthday is OVER thank goodness, and I am feeling somewhat optimistic about the rest of the week.  Tomorrow I ...

Recovery

Happy Sunday!  I attended a Birthday Party for a friend last night and boy oh boy did I over-indulge.  The only way to describe today is "Recovery".  I had not had a drop of alcohol since December and last night I lost count after 6 Rum and Diet Cokes.  Then after all that booze, I came home and pigged out.  I am just going to move forward from here.  No sense in beating myself up over it....Especial

Starting Tomorrow...Really This Time!

 Unrated
Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 9:23 AM filed under Diet & Nutrition postings
I am your typical dieter.....the "Starting Tomorrow" dieter.  The one that is always "fixing to" get started.  An old supervisor of mine (back when I was around 17 or 18) once told me that "fixing to"  was another word for idle.  If you are fixing to do something, then you are not currently doing anything.  He was so right.  It has taken me a couple of decades to finally "get it".  I have a big birthday party for my boss ...
