Beating yourself up hurts no one but yourself

I have a bad habit of going down that path of self destruction.  I've discovered this enough about myself in the countless number of times I have tried to lose weight in the past.  I have a set back, a bad night of overindulgence, and I end up spiraling out of control. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? Tonight I took a co-worker out to dinner to thank her for watching my kids for about an hour.  We ate about 2 hours later than I normally do, which caused me to start do...

Feeling Empowered Makes All the Difference

This is honestly the first time in my life my weight loss journey has felt different.  In the past, after the second month I usually hit a plateau and feel defeated, leading to me being okay with rationalizing self-destructive behaviors.  This time, after the second month, I again hit a plateau and was stuck in the same up/down 3-4 lb. weight range for almost three weeks.  I was incredibly frustrated and started going down that same path of self-destruction and rationaliza...

Life after illness

I've been battling a cold for the past 1 1/2 weeks.  This nasty little bug has worked it's way through my whole family, so now the hubby is at home feeling miserable.  I worked out for the first time since I got sick and it sucked!  Talk about trying to catch your breath with Jillian Michaels yelling at you from your t.v.

Life does continue even after the nasty germs.  I was able to get the Valentine's dinner off in 3 days, but you definitely learn the hard way...

So, I thought about returning my ebook, The Diet Solution Plan, because it was a food plan that just made sense and I thought it was just recycled information.  I've been on other diets that are protein-heavy and told you to eat 5 times a day.  However, I'm almost done with my first week on the Plan and I have to tell you, I believe in it wholly and fully now.  I've lost 6 pounds just this first week and I still have 2 days to go.  It's focused on whole, organic foods, and my...

So, the hubby and I decided to make our target weightloss goals pay out bigtime...as in a tropical paradise vacation for two when the goal is reached.  I'm thinking Hawaii or the Caribbean during the dead of winter here in the states, preferably on a resort that's all-inclusive and has a fantastic spa.  Other goals include:
  • 25 lbs - new pair of workout shoes
  • 50 lbs - a day at the spa for moi
  • 75 lbs - weekend getaway
  • Goal we

First day on 30-day Shred

Holy bananas. Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred is insane. I thought to myself, "This is a good way to ease into Slim in Six and P90X." After 20 minutes of workout hell there's no easing anything. Except maybe my backbone back into place.  Seriously, it hurts to go up stairs.

I can't wait for Day 2 tomorrow!
