Exercise... I love it <3. But dieting?? Not so much!!

I've been attempting a healthier lifestyle as a result of some information I came upon while doing research for a school essay.  My weight is what's gonna end up leading to my demise if I don't get it in check!!

I have no problem with sticking to a work out routine.  I love to exercise.  The thing I have trouble with is staying healthy.  I hate keeping track of what I eat and I definitely don't like having to restrict myself.  It just makes me want to eat more (lol).

So, what I've decided to do is NOT count calories, but follow the food pyramid: Three cups of veggies, 2 cups of fruits, 7 ounces of grains (half whole grains), 6 ounces of meats, and 3 cups of milk.  That is so much easier than counting calories!!  I just have to make the most out of these choices.  I also purchased a few healthy living cook books and am having lots of fun cooking healthier versions of all my favorite foods.  I've realized that it's my food choices that are what's keeping me fat.  By making things fresh, I cut out a lot of sodium and fat and everything tastes so much fresher.  I am loving that!

I still have problems with the dreaded chocolate cravings... junk food cravings in general, really!  My guilty pleasures lately are drinking milk with chocolate syrup, or putting chocolate syrup on my fruit but that's better than inhaling a bag of Dove brand chocolates in one sitting.  I'd like to think I'm making progress.

I must thank this site!  It's an awesome way to keep track of my workouts and I'm kind of mad because I paid 80 bucks for a site that doesn't even offer all of these tools :(.  I'm greatful I found this site when I did :D.
