7 Years After Surgery

I had Gastric Bypass surgery 7 years ago. I was one of the many people who sat the day before my surgery looking at Carnie Wilson's website about her live surgery and how successful it had been for her.

After my surgery, I lost enough weight to get pregnant... twice!! Eating has been a total brain scramble. First it felt great because I could not eat that much and I was losing weight. Then I got pregnant and I had to make myself eat because the baby needed it.

7 Years forward... well.. we see what happened to Carnie... However I gotta say that I would do it all over again. Even though I have gained weight I am not as big as I used to be. and the gastric bypass allows me to recognize in a timely fashion that I need to take special attention to my diet. Right now I weight 200 pounds and I realize that it is time to take control over my health and life style.

In my case, I can feel the gastric bypass still works. I do not feel I can eat as much as I used to. Even though I can definitely eat more than at the very beginning. The question is then why am I gaining weight? the answer is something I know by heart... I am eating the wrong stuff.

I notice that my Aquiles heel is sweets. Candy, oh chocolate and doughnuts, what a bitter sweet feeling I have towards them. Some people say that eating what you like makes you happy, but take it from first hand experience, being unhealthy makes no one happy.

I want to weight 180 pounds by the end of the year. My ultimate goal is to be 155 pounds next year and get a tummy tuck. I look around for all the blessings bestowed to my life, and know that God will give me the strength to accomplish this
