It's So About Me

My battles with weight were more like arguments.  I didn't understand the big deal about dieting.  If I had weight to lose from a pregnancy.  I'd eat clean, workout to some videos and drop the weight.  I didn't get why it was such a big deal.

I understood the big deal after my last pregnancy.  I was 223 lbs the day I delivered my son.  I was 223 lbs at my six week postpartum checkup.  It took me 6 months of clean eating, cardio and weight lifting to lose 80 pounds.  The upside, I was healthier and more fit than I had ever been in my life!

I enjoyed my new body for all of 5 minutes.  I steadily regained the weight.  I was still eating healthy and exercising.  Finally, I got frustrated and gave up. I stopped eating healthy and exercising.  I reached 180 lbs after fighting the weight gain for 18 months.

I had an annual physical in June.  I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism.  My doctor said to me "You don't have a slow thyroid.  You got a super sloooow thyroid".  I was given medication and lost 55 lbs in three months.

I've gained 8 pounds.  I stopped working out again.  My eating hasn't been clean with the holiday season.  I've had my fill of fudge and Christmas cookies.  My pants are tight and I've got muffin top.  I'm ready to do something about it, NOW!
