Of course one has to be careful, but instead of cursing the blizzard, make Mother Nature work for YOU! Shoveling snow is a great exercise - cardio, use of back, glutes, calves, abdominals (yes!! shame for you to lift that shovel and not tighten that abdomen), triceps, biceps, pectorals, lats and deltoids.
Just think! Two hours of shoveling snow can burn as much as 1000 calories!
And for all of that work, I for one will enjoy a warm fire, a modicum of something I love to eat (in a tiny portion of course), and feel good for clearing my driveway as well as working my muscles in a way that is functional and healthy.
Enjoy! Raise a hot chocolate toast to functional aerobic exercise!
