First day of Lent

For those Catholics out there, today is the first day of Lent. For Lent I am giving up soda with the exception of cheating it for my birthday next month. Of course my birthday is always halfway through Lent. So far, I haven't had a soda yet today and I hope that stays many days.

I was hoping since this was Lent, I would try to start eating better today. I failed. I guess I started off good by eating something for breakfast and having a snack around 11am. For lunch I got a chinese bento box and it had a lot of food. I realize this food doesn't taste as good as a real chinese restaurant, and I realize how gross I feel after. I am about to do a light workout so that I can get a little energy before pulling an all nighter at work. I also hope tomorrow I can go to the gym to at least do the elliptical.

I find it really hard being in a world that is obsessed with actresses and model's looks. It makes me feel bigger and fatter and uglier than on a bad day. Yet, somehow it doesn't make me want to try harder either.

My birthday is in 5 weeks, and I hope to have made progress in losing weight. I ohpe to be about 10+ pounds lighter.
