I have always thought about giving something for Lent but I knew I couldn't or wouldn't give up something for the whole time.  So I thought that if I gave up some calories I would at least give up something and also probably give up some weight.  I am just "overweight" by my BMI calculation and if I lose 6 pounds I will be in my correct range.

If I give up 300-500 calories per day I can lose 6 pounds in the next month.  So my plan: eat my same breakfast which is less than 400 calories.  Eat 600-800 calories for lunch (basically a sandwich).  BUT no other junk like fries, chips or any sweets.  Have some fruit as a snack and not the cookies, chips and candy that we have around the office.  IF I have a piece of candy I will take one bite and then toss the rest (which is what I do around Christmas each year).  And then eat my normal dinner but only one helping and any dessert I have I will cut back by 50%.

That along with drinking more water and doing my regular exercise should get me to my goal.
