One year to get fit

HA HA HA HA! This is for everyone who has ever thought, "I'll try and control portion size of my food and follow exactly what a portion is on the food package." I got up starving and went to the pantry. As I passed up the easy to grab cookies and home made cake, I spotted the Honey Nut Cheerios box. Yum! So I got the cereal, a bowl and milk and then stopped. This time I was actually going to measure the amount of one serving which is 3/4 cup. I had a moment of, "Wow, I can do this." It was just a moment. After relaxing with my son and eating my bowl of cereal at the bottom of the bowl, I was still starving and my tummy turning circles. You guessed it. I promptly went back into the pantry and freely poured my second bowl of cereal with a splash of milk. That bowl is now empty too and I can't help but wonder, "Who eats just one portion?" This morning, certainly not me! At least I passed up the sweets!:-)
