After tracking everything I ate today, I was surprised to see that I still fell within my calorie range! Yeah! A week or so ago I went to Walmart and bought a Sportline wrist watch with extra bells and whistles. It was very affordable at around $35.00 and it shows me how many calories I burn in a day, how many steps I take, miles I log etc...and it even has a button for me to check my heart rate at random. I highly recommend you purchase one and see exactly what your heart rate is at various times of the day as well as to track how many steps you take even if you're not "exercise walking." I didn't do a lot of activity today and of course didn't wear it to church but I did get in 4,761 steps just doing what I do! This gives me encouragement that I can make 10,000 steps a day if I actually tried! My goal tomorrow is to walk at least 7,000 and I'll go from there. I also just purchased The Women's Health Big Book of Exercise. It's awesome! It tells you exactly what to do, how and when to do it and more importantly, it gives YOU the choice of what type and kind of exercise to do. Included in the book is a meal plan as well. If you hate doing crunches but want a firm tummy, there are plenty of alternative exercises with instructions and pictures to demonstrate. It was also affordable at $24.99 at Barnes and Noble. Check it out!
