OMG Papa Gino's

My mother was kind enough to take me to lunch yesterday while we were running errands and we ended up at a Papa Gino's. I glanced at the menu, searching for something that wouldn't spoil my dieting efforts, and found an eggplant parm panini. I knew it would be fried and have a ton of cheese, but at least it was based on a vegetable. Alas, alack, they were out of eggplant. So I revised my choice to what I thought was a grilled chicken panini with a basil sauce. When I pick up our order my panini is 6 inches long smothered in cheese and the chicken is fried (damn), but at least it's small, right? I check the nutrition facts online when I get home - OMG! My sandwich had 1080 calories and 2990 mg of sodium. I was stunned and convinced there must be an error in their chart so I looked at some others - nope all of their sandwiches are that calorie laden (some only have 760 but still, they're very small and don't sound very tasty...).
Note to self - avoid Papa Gino's.
