Day 17

Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 9:58 PM filed under General postings
I can't believe that it has been over two weeks. Two weeks, and I am still making progress. OK, everyday isn't actually  no day is perfect. But every day I have made a real effort.

One of the greatest things is that so far I have not had muscle/nerve/bone/joint issues! Most of the times that I have tried to get this weight off I have been then confined to bed for as much as 9 days. Even little things have caused massive pain. Of course summer isn't here yet, and the heat kills me. But truly, it is so nice to be able to do something and not have every part of my body to feel like it has gone through a trash compactor!

And another great thing is being able to see the effort I am putting in. I can see that I tried to stay below my calories, sometimes I can see that I did stay below my calories! I can see that I did my workout, how many calories I burned, my weight go down (and up), my measurements go down (and up). I love the visual side of this. I am not a very observant person. A friend of mine who has super curly hair straightened it one time. I knew something was different, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I am that bad! Anyway, I don't notice if my clothes are looser (they are almost entirely elastic waste so who could?). So seeing the graphs, seeing the numbers, they are so helpful.

Anyway, here I am, day 17, and I am still running the race. OK, that really is a metaphor...I DO NOT RUN! But I am hanging in there, I am still encouraged, and I am NOT giving up. Maybe "this time" I really will pull this off!
