Food for fuel?

i have had the wrong impression about food....i seem to associate it with something...thankgsgiving has to have this, this and this..christmas, this and that...after each meal i must have dessert...so where do the "snacks" come in??? this has been my thought process far to long...i recently started working out to Leslie Sansone Walk at home DVD's...they are awesome..you sweat, you hurt(muscles) and you feel energized...all in 47 min!...so then i got her book and she talks about thinking of food as fuel...about our body is a machine that works 24/7 and we must use "fuel" efficiently!...so i started saying to myself..ok every bite counts! and using fitclick has really helped me see where i am getting it wrong..or right! and that is encouraging :) the bottom line is...i want to be there physically for my husband and daughter..so that means i must take care of ME!!! it really is a mental thing...you have to make up your mind you are not going back to "i love the taste..texture of that food" thoughts only...i think i really just got into a rut cooking southern style food and loving it..now i am looking for more healthy alternatives and having fun trying new "taste and textures!" so heres to new and fit!
