Nowadays, the rapid development of society leads to the emergence of different kinds of crime. Most individuals start rejecting the moral principles as well as ethics. The financial welfare has become one of the far-reaching goals of individuals. Consequently, in order to reach the desirable target, people commit certain crimes. The level of crime has dramatically increased since the last decade. Nevertheless, the worst situation is with juvenile delinquency. Teenagers often commit some crimes because of the lack of money or problems at home. Accordingly, every prosperous government seeks for alternative and preventive ways of punishment. The most popular method is rehabilitation. It is considered to be one of the most controversial issues in the contemporary world. On the one hand, most of the scientists find this type of treatment the most efficient and relevant. On the other hand, the opponents stick to the point that rehabilitation is vain since it brings no results. The purpose of the paper is to support the idea that rehabilitation can prevent further spread of delinquency.  Also quite often I get an order to write an exclusive papers on this topic because I am a writer on Exclusive-Paper.com.

Basically, crimes have gained wide popularity in contemporary society. Data state that in virtually all parts of the world, with the exception of the United States, rates of youth crime rose in the 1990s. It means that teenagers are the most vulnerable members of society. In fact, there is a wide range of factors that cause the emergence of teenager crime as well as offences among adults. The first reason is a shortage of money. Many families suffer from unemployment and poverty. Consequently, teenagers find stealing as an alternative way of getting money. The second reason is drug addiction. Many adults as well as teenagers are addicted to different types of drugs, and to get a new portion, they commit certain crimes. The third reason is family problems. Observing the lasting conflicts at home, teenagers find crime an alternative way to escape from reality. Analyzing the data mentioned above, there are a number of factors pushing adults to committing some crimes. Consequently, there should be ways to punish and prevent delinquency.

An effective way to tackle the problem is rehabilitation. It is based on the principles of morality and ethics respectively. Rehabilitation focuses on persuading and changing the behavior of the criminal. That is why the methods applied are effective and appropriate, especially, while speaking about teenagers. In fact, comparing adult and juvenile delinquency, teenagers are those who can be influenced by rehabilitation greatly. It case with adults, it is more difficult to treat them because their personality has already been formed. As a result, rehabilitation perfectly suits for preventing juvenile delinquency.

There are many advantages of applying rehabilitation. The first benefit is that it is a lasting process of forming a personality. In fact, education and vocational training enable to suggest relevant information and explain its every aspect. The juvenile’s personality is not shaped at all. Consequently, due to sufficient techniques, it is possible to change individual’s perception of the world. The second benefit is that rehabilitation goes under strict control of the supervisor. It doubles the final result. The reason is that teenagers are usually afraid of adults who hold an important position in society. Consequently, they will follow all the instructions provided by them. The last benefit is positive reinforcement. Persons learn the aspects of the correct social behavior. Accordingly, they realize that an appropriate behavior is much more rewarding for them than a criminal one. The rehabilitation program enables to estimate the causes and consequences of a particular action. Moreover, teenagers can choose what behavior to follow. Rehabilitation allows them to make decisions according to their preferences. Without doubt, the process of rehabilitation takes a long time, but it brings great results.

However, there exists the opposite point of view concerning the disadvantages of rehabilitation. The latter was introduced by the liberals finding this type of treatment the most effective and correct one. Nevertheless, the opponents stated, that the progressive liberals, who in the decades past had so proudly introduced the noble ideas underlying a rehabilitative correctional system, had also begun to see critical flaws. The reason is that the criminal revel in the 1990s dramatically increased and has remained stable for a long period. Consequently, the critics said that it was because of the lack of criminal treatment or rehabilitation. Moreover, the expert stated that rehabilitation did not help to reduce the level of crime in the country, and it was not effective at all. He admitted, what we do know is that, to date, education and skill development have not reduced recidivism by rehabilitating criminals. This point of view can be ambiguous. Speaking about adults, rehabilitation may not bring so great results in comparison to teenagers. The reason is quite obvious and lies in the fact that adults have already formed their personality while teenagers have been still shaping it. Moreover, the suggestion that it does not work is absolutely wrong. The problem can be connected with various factors, namely, the age of the criminal, gender, time of rehabilitation, and the procedure. All these factors influence the effectiveness of treatment. That is why it is a wrong idea to say that rehabilitation is ineffective. This kind of treatment should be analyzed as a set of components. Every element plays a significant role. Consequently, when something is wrong, the result can get worse. Nevertheless, it is not a sufficient cause to say that the whole process of rehabilitation is not good at all.

To conclude, the crime level has dramatically increased for the last years. People start thinking of money, as it is integral part of their existence. Consequently, they start committing a crime in order to get the desired. The most horrible situation concerns juvenile delinquency. Nowadays, teenagers commit a great variety of crimes in the country. There are many reasons for this, namely, the lack of money, addiction to drugs, or problems at home. Accordingly, the government searches for appropriate ways of punishment. However, rehabilitation is considered to be the most popular type of criminal treatment. It is based on the moral principles and ethical issues respectively and can be analyzed from two perspectives. The first one states that this type of treatment helps to reduce the crime level in the country. It provides sufficient education as well as vocational training, as well as teaches teenagers to identify the correct behavior that can be rewarding for them. The second perspective states that it is not effective at all. It only works for teenagers, but not for adults. The latter have already shaped their personality, and it is difficult to change it at all. Nevertheless, one may admit that every process has its pluses and minuses. In this case, pluses prevail. It is better to use treatment based on morality rather than on cruelty. It will make society humanizing.
