My first month on the site
Well yesterday was my first month since joining the site. I have lost 19 pound for the month. Which puts me down to 224 with a total of 173 lbs lost. Much more to go but working at it.

I'm tired tonight trying to talk myself into wii'ing a bit but my achy bones are saying no. Maybe i'll do the body test and take it from there. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Nice Carl!
I've only worked out once, but I haven't been feeling well.
Haven't lost any weight either. Maybe an Inch total over all my measurements. I don't understand. I know I've gone over my calories a couple days, but 4/5 days I'm good if not more. I'm getting very discouraged. I work out like crazy too! This week hasn't been my best, but I dropped 11lbs my first 3 weeks of dieting, and the last month and a half nothing. :( I thought at first I was just gaining muscle from working out so much, but my measurements aren't letting me believe that anymore. I'm bummed

I had the same problem
Hey eyelovewoodart,

I was instructed, during my hospital discharge, to monitor large weight gains and losses on a daily basis because of my heart condition.

I went back and looked at my weight from the first day I started exercising and had the same problems you are having right now. Of the first 60 days, I lost 20 lbs total. I actually would lose a pound or two then gain a pound or two. Of the first 60 days, 18 days I gained a pound to two pounds, 30 days I stayed the same weight and 12 days I actually lost weight.

I kept with it and it started to come off at a steady pace. I say stick with it. It will happen.

Good Advice!!
Hi Everyone,
I agree with Carl, Rachel. Don't give up that damn (oops) scale will budge in time. I find that interesting that you tracked your weight daily Carl maybe i'll try that and see if there is any correlation between gaining days and what i'm eating on those days. Who knows? there could be one or two foods that are a trigger. Only down 1lb this week this month has been a bit of a bummer but its my fault I know i'm not working at it like I can. Happy Halloween Guys!!

10 LBS a month!
HI IM Sarah
I also lack motivation. I am very goal oriented - but find that some days im interested in being a fitness superstar, and some days I just don't care.

I currently weigh 153lbs - and my goal weight is 140
So I am in with you.

I have started walking to class - instead of taking the bus. and I actually refrained from buying a bus pass this month - so I can get more walking in.

My goal is to start using my gym membership more - and go to kick boxing on Tuesday nights. But I feel awkward going to classes all alone. Its unfamiliar territory. and Its a co-ed gym. can anyone give me some words of motivation on how to go to classes without feeling awkward? thank you

A little better all the time
YAY! I didn't go too crazy with Halloween Candy!
Hi new people! This is really hard. I've stayed on with this diet for longer than any before (like 2 1/2 months, not the best track record). THis is usually the time I quit. I'm losing motivation because my scale won't budge and I recently started working longer hours at work. I have a lot of excuses and I am my own worst enemy. I WILL NOT STOP! If this was easy, I wouldn't have gotten fat in the first place.
There will always be work, fried chicken will ALWAYS be delicious and being a pastry chef I will always be surrounded by cakes and pies. We will stay motivated together, and when you lose motivation offer yourself no alternative. WE WILL DO THIS!

Welcome Newbies!!
Hi Everyone,
Well I maintained this week but thats ok unlike Rachel I have gone a bit nuts with the fun size treats LOL. OMG Rachel I didn't know you are a pastry chef that must be really difficult. I used to brush my teeth when I wanted to snack. No-one wants to eat when they have a nice clean minty fresh mouth maybe I should start doing that more.
Smalta, that first visit will be awkward but imagine how many others felt the same as you do. I bet your not the only one and once you bite the bullet and walk into that gym I bet there will someone there to welcome you aboard. DO IT!! everytime you go it will get easier
Hi skinnyluv, sounds like you are well on the way to meeting your goals even if you are struggling with eating you are doing all the right things exercise wise. Lots of us have trouble getting around to exercising never mind dieting
