Breaking the COKE hold...
I am excited to say that I have not had a Coke or carbonated drink since January 4th, 2010. This is a pretty big deal, considering I have averaged about three Cokes a day for the last 15 years.

I have noticed some major differences in my diet. First, I drink a lot more milk at night and in the morning. Secondly, I am drinking water everyday (which I NEVER did before)...

Because of the change in diet, there have been some pretty noticeable changes. For one, my random caffeine headaches are GONE... :) Also, I find that I have more energy than usual. I also don't get heartburn at all anymore. Something interesting is that my voice is stronger. I sing a lot, and I can now sing higher and stronger and for longer periods of time (i think it's because of the reduction of phosphoric acid)...

Anyway, I know I have finally settled this issue in my life... and wanted to encourage others who may be trying to kick Coke as well!

Good job!
Good for you!! I drink normally on average one a day, but would like to cut it out a few days a week.

Awesome!
I have started with the Barq's Rootbeer twice and sometimes three times a day. I am looking forward to ditching that habit altogether! Your post is quite inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I'm a singer as well and as you know anything that helps is more than welcome.

Great job!
I hear ya! I needed my Pepsi everyday at 3:00 and have now stopped for 2.5 months! Now i have an apple. Instead of that short lived sugar/caffeine high, and crashing 2 hours later, I feel full and fueled much longer. I can even stay up longer than my kids! YAY! The days that I do have a Pepsi, I can't even finish it, it's way too sweet!

AWESOME!
I know this is an old post.... But I am just starting and the first thing was to kick my Coke habit as well. I tried it once before and I did it for over 3 months!!! So never quit quitting right. So today is day 1 with no coke. I switched to water and unsweetened ice tea. And believe me I drink more than 3 cans a day. I'm hoping my heartburn goes away also!
