Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix crisco, flour and salt in bowl. In separate bowl: mix egg, vinegar and water. Mix 1st mixture into 2nd mixture. Divide into 2 equal sections. This is your top and bottom crust.

Core and peel apples and mix together with the juice from lemon, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and tapioca.

Put crust in bottom of pie pan and fill with apple mixture. Cover with top crust. Put 4 small slits in top and dot with butter.

Cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes then reduce temperature to 350 degrees and continue cooking for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
