Weight Loss Stagnating but not Gaining Weight Either

 Unrated
Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 8:54 AM filed under General postings

As the title suggests, I haven't lost weight this week, but I haven't gained since last week. I think the problem is I went off my diet strategy and cooked a homemade dinner for my father and me two Thursdays in a row and got stuck with eating leftover spagetti and chili mac. Next time I'll have him take the leftovers and freeze them or he can eat them. I'm detirmined to lose at least two punds this next week though. On another note, I started on the 'spin bike' ins

How I lost 12 Pounds in January

I haven't been keeping up with logging every meal into Fitclick - I've just been too busy. But I used Fitclick before enough to know what my calorie intake is or there-about for the day. So if I've used it before and lost weight, why do I keep gaining weight? Well, I think it's because I set a goal to eat healthy but didn't change my lifestyle. So I made a commitment January 1st to do just that. When my family or friends ask if I want to go eat fast food or at the buffe

Workouts Paying Off

 Unrated
Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 8:46 AM filed under General postings

I made a breakthrough yesterday. My heartrate went down 10-20 BPM (beats per minute) doing the same exercise at the same intensity that I did on Monday. Looks like 4 weeks of training has been good for my cardiovascular system. Bad news is I haven't lost any weight since last Sunday yet, but hoping to make up for it over the next 3 days and get down to at least 226. I feel I can do it. I just haven't been eating enough vegtables in leiu of peanut butter and other high calorie snack

Checking In

Well, I've lost 6 lbs in 2 days and it's great. I might even be able to keep it up too. My metabolism and energy levels seem to stay up lately just doing interval training on the exercise bike. What's really helped is I stopped watching TV and listening to music during my workouts. Rather, I've been looking at the "numbers" on the bike. I look at the RPM mostly and keep my rrythem or 'cadence' steady at 70 RPM going from level 5 to level 9 2 minutes each.

Cycling Fitness is all about "The Fit"

I went to a local super chain store looking for a bike only to pull down a bike I liked and it was heavy and too tall. I happen to walk into a local bike shop (LBS), after getting no help at the chain store, and they tell me I have short legs for my height so I need a 'small' frame bike or 15" frame. It seems your inseam height is the bike 'standover height' which detirmines proper bike frame size. It will also detirmine if your foot can reach

Blog start - I am starting this blog to hopefully look back and see the progress I've made over a year's time. I started the new year weghing in at 240 lbwith a 5'7" height and a slightly stocky frame. I estimate a good weight for me would be 190 lbs or there-a-bouts. I will be happy if I break 210 lbs as I haven't seen that in 4years.

Also, If I haven't made a blog entry or am slacking in anyway, I'm also hoping someone will chime i
