So...it's been at least a year and a half since my last entry.  I guess I've been a little too preoccupied with fat loss challenges elsewhere. I did not get as lean as I hoped for, but getting there. I'm at about 27% body fat from 30+. Now down to a size 38 waist size (from 44 when I started all this) and I've changed a lot of my habits for the better. Had some knee pain recently so in the middle of physical therapy for that. Going well and hardly any pain the past few

Slowly but surely, moving on up the points leaderboards. I don't know if I'll ever catch the top 10, but I'm sure going to try!

So I've finally broke into the Top 500 on the points leaderboard! Yay! Consistency in tracking is the key. Now I just have to increase my workouts and I should be all set.

Ok, I haven't posted much to this in awhile so thought I'd throw in a few words of where and what I've been up to.

Last race I ran was in October 2011, a 4 miler. I was pretty much the last "runner" but it was a cold morning and not all showed up that registered. Since I've been trying to concentrate more on karate than running, I haven't signed up for any races really. I did walk a 1 miler with my 2 daughters (6 and 9) and my wife this past weekend

So I got back on the workout plan last night. Felt good to finish, even though I didn't complete the workout until 1am!! Strength training I felt right away, so I guess I did it right. 2.5 mile run in 34 minutes. Not bad considering how bad I ate over the holiday. To meet my goal of an average 13 minutes/mile, I need to finish in under 42 minutes. I will do it!

Need to make sure I get my sleep for the 5k on Sunday. Probably do two or three more days of workout and then rest f...

Food for thought

Changed up my normal breakfast of toast or a bagel and had a smoothie instead out of 1 cup lowfat Kefir, frozen banana and a couple strawberries. That makes a big difference in my calories so I have a lot more flexibility with the rest of the day. I guess that is a good thing! So far, not overly hungry. Had a hardboiled egg and a Ritz Crackerful which is making me thirsty so I should get my water in today, too! Hoping my wife gets on board soon, too. Since I finished my workout a little ear...

New PBR of 13:25/mile last night! Will do great at the Velocity 5k on 6/3! Little sore today, but should be ok to keep going tonight...though it's the night of intervals....run/walk/sprint...those sprints get me. I just slow it down when my knees hurt and pick it back up where I can.

Ok, so I signed up for the Beginning Running: Five Mile Island workout plan today. It gives you the option of choosing Today, Tomorrow and Other of when to start...I chose Today I am proud to say.

I'm going to split up the strength training exercises over the day to get it all in as I am going to be home late tonight and don't want to leave any of it out. My plan is to do the abs and back at work (I luckily have my own office and can close the door) and then finish ...

I am back to FitClick after my foot surgery last year. Started jogging/walking again in December in preparation for my first 5k on New Year's Day - "Hangover 5k" in Scotch Plains, NJ. Got postponed twice until end of Feb. I finished in a little over 43 minutes which I was very proud of (and a little shocked). Signed up for my next 5k right away to keep myself motivated. Ran that one in April at Brookdale Park, Bloomfield, NJ which had a lot of hills and I was sick t...

Just started using FitClick this week and think it is awesome. I've been overweight most of my life and have been through the various diets and was doing WW but didn't make the time for the meetings, so tried to use the e-tools and found it much too slow to be useful, plus, not that I have FitClick, why should I pay for it?

Anyway, so far, just planning the meals ahead of time is a huge help. I keep swapping foods out until I get close enough to my daily targets to be satisfi...
