My love affair with alcohol

It can be a real problem...
Especially when you work so hard all week in the office AND at the gym and you want a little reward.
But the bottle is no good for me and I need to try to cut down on the big A.
I tried cutting out beer because of the carbs. And I was pretty successful with that.
BUT the bacardi commercials showing that diet coke and bacardi are only a few calories really got me.
The big thing is that no matter how many calories are in alcohol, it c...

Getting into the groove of things.

It Happened. I finally made it part of my routine. I'm finally a gym bum.
That's right, I'm a gym bum. I can barely believe it myself.

My biggest problem when it comes to losing weight is being a consistent gym-goer. Sure, I had my week-long spurts where I would go to the gym about three days in the week. But, then, the week later, I would go maybe once. And thus, the infinite cycle of gaining and losing the same stupid two pounds went on and on and on....<...

The Thanksgiving Devil

Who doesn't love a good holiday? We spend time with family, catch up on life and share funny stories. Oh, right, and we eat. We eat A LOT and we drink (sometimes a lot...).

This past weekend was Canadian thanksgiving. The first of many fall/winter holidays where food is the main entertainment. And, let me tell you, I don't hold back. Not one bit. This past weekend was no exception. In fact, this weekend was a lot worse than thanksgiving's past.

I had a birthday pa...

Last night, after a whole week of neglecting poor Gym, I worked out for 2 hours straight!

Ok, ok, ok...I know that may not be super impressive, but what IS impressive is that I did two classes back to back.  I am not one for taking classes, I much prefer to work out on my own with free-weights and cardio exercises. I also find the Fit Click workout plan very useful. I like to follow it. So, for me to go off my plan (other than when I miss a workout entirely) is

I try to treat the gym like my boyfriend. What I mean by this is I like to feel that our relationship (the Gym and I that is) needs constant attention in order for it to work. That means, we have to see eachother at least a few times a week and one day on the weekend...It's what any good relationship needs to survive.
Anyway, lately my 'life' has been getting in the way of Gym and I's relationship. Work, sleep, laziness...I've been finding more and more excuses to not spend...

Moving away from cravings

It's pretty hard to get away from things you love to eat. For me, it's sweets...especially chocolate. What can I say? I'm a true woman who loves to indulge.
People tend to say 'just stop eating it' but, it's not that easy. It's not like I'm a bad eater and it's not like all I do is sit around and eat chocolate bars all day but, It's hard to say no all the time!
For example, yesterday after a long 12 hour shift (and fabulous eating may I add) I went home and took a nap. W...
